Buried deep within Lada Valešova’s new collection of Dumkas are stories. Through movement and dance theatre two couples and a concert pianist explore the hidden narratives inside these short bursts of Slavic musical beauty. They are investigating the similarities between the musical score and heartfelt entries in a diary. In fact the two couples are the same people at different points in their long life together: How do our younger and older selves watch and converse with each other through words, music and memory?
